Anillochlamys raholai Zariquiey, 1922 View in CoL ( Figs. 2 View FIGURES 1–5 , 30 View FIGURES 26–31 )
Anillochlamys Raholai Zariquiey, 1922b: 159 View in CoL ; plate XI.
Current accepted name
Pseudospeonomus raholai (Zariquiey, 1922) View in CoL : Comas et al., 2007: 124.
Type locality
Cova Tassana [original citation: “Cova Tasana, junto a la cala Reparada y dentro de la bahía de Joncus, situada en terrenos de los Barones de la Roda y término municipal de Cadaqués (Prov. Gerona)”].
Type material
Holotype ♂: MZB 78-3018, type loc., VIII-1919, R. Zariquiey leg.
Paratypes: MZB 78-2225, MZB 78-3017 (2 ♀♀), same data as holotype .
Remarks
Male holotype originally designated as a “Tipo” (= holotype, Article 73.1.1.). Subsequently Zariquiey (1922b) cites the capture of various specimens from the type locality at the end of August 1919 (with no further details). In the MCNB collection we have found three specimens with identical collection labels and with red labels with the written inscription “COTIPO” (MZB 78-2225) or the printed inscription “Typus” (MZB 78-3017 and MZB 78-3018). Oleguer Escolà, the former curator of the MCNB arthropod collection, identified by handwritten labels the specimen MZB 78-3018 (lacking the posterior part of its abdomen) as the holotype designated by Zariquiey (1922b), indicating that its copulatory organ has been extracted and subsequently lost. The author of the description gives the length of the holotype (2.5 mm) and also indicates its relative dimensions (length and width) of the antennal segments, the relative lengths of the segments of the rear tarsus, and describes and illustrates the aedeagus of the supposed (there is no way of knowing for sure) male holotype. Neither can we be sure how Zariquiey made these measurements. We have no reason to doubt the identification of the holotype made by Escolà, who we assume must have had additional information at his disposal that enabled him to reach this conclusion.
In the MNCNM (box 2) we have located a specimen labelled as a cotype by C. Bolívar, which also has the red printed label of a syntype (nº 11491) added at a later date. Jeannel (1924a) states for this species “…type: cova Tasana (coll. Zariquiey et coll. Biospeologica)”. In the general collection of the MHNNP (box 52), we have located specimens with identical collection dates but not labelled as belonging to the type series .
