Lycogala flavofuscum has been recorded in Jiangsu Province and Hunan Province in subtropical China ( Li et al. 2008). However, no relevant physical specimens were obtained in this study. This species represents a rare case where morphological data alone may be sufficient for reliable identification. Nevertheless, considering the unprecedented hidden diversity of the Lycogala species, further confirmation is needed to determine whether subtropical China truly possesses this species.
