Notes:— Groves (1885) cited no specimen in the protologue. We found original material in BM, FI, K and MPU. All the plants borne on the sheets show features matching the diagnosis and corresponding to the current concept of the taxon (see e.g., Fernandes 1976, Pignatti 1982). Among these, we choose the most well-developed and well-preserved individual as lectotype.

Notes:— Groves (1887) cited no specimen in the protologue. The original material that we found consists of the specimens in BM and in FI, and of the illustration published along with the protologue ( Groves 1887: pl. 5) (see the recent proposal to amend the code made by Clementi & Peruzzi 2015). From among the original elements, all showing features matching the diagnosis and corresponding to the current concept of the taxon (see e.g., Pignatti 1972, 1982), we prefer to designate a herbarium specimen as lectotype, since it is a better choice than illustration owing to its ability in providing useful additional characters that cannot be matched by images ( Jarvis 2007). Among the specimens, we choose the most well-developed and well-preserved individual as lectotype.
