TYPE LOCALITY: Panama, Canal Zone, Rio Chilibrillo, near Alahuela .
DISTRIBUTION: Nicaragua to Venezuela and Ecuador.
COMMENTS: Although specimens from Panama are larger than those from Costa Rica, the species is still regarded as monotypic; see Walton (1963).
