Genus PERILIMNIA Becker, 1919 View in CoL
Two species, South America only, and one undescribed species from Peru
PERILIMNIA Becker, 1919: 189 [ Kaczynski et al. 1969 (revision, key to species)]
Type-species: Perilimnia albifacies Becker, 1919: 189 (monotypic)
Notosciomyza Malloch, 1933: 313 [ Steyskal 1963: 123]
Type-species: Notosciomyza dubia Malloch, 1933: 313–315 (original designation) = Perilimnia albifacies Becker, 1919: 189
Note: An undescribed species of Perilimnia is known from a single male specimen collected by Ross & Michelbacher from Callao, Peru, 17.XI.1950. The specimen is in USNM on loan from CAS. LK examined the specimen and found that the male terminalia is similar to that of P. albifacies but that the arista, first flagellomere, frontal vitta, and wing venation are remarkably different.
