( Tetanocera ) [ Malloch 1933: 315]
HT: ♂ [ Argentina] “Patagonia,” NHRS, unnumbered [examined by Malloch 1933: 15 (but probably not terminalia as it was not figured)
Note 1: Zuska & Berg 1974 provided six different views of the ♂ terminalia (pp. 332, 335, 338–339, 345– 346), but it is unclear whether any of them were made from the holotype, which they examined (“The male holotype from Patagonia, Argentina, was lent for examination by the Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet in Stockholm” (p. 346).]
DIST: ARGENTINA (Río Negro). CHILE (Araucanía; Biobío; Los Lagos; Los Ríos; Magallanes y la Antártica Chilena; Metropolitana de Santiago; Ñuble; Valparaíso). Map: Zuska & Berg 1974
Note 2: Zuska & Berg 1974: 346–347 provided a long list of specimens of T. patagonicus collected in Argentina and Chile as part of their “Further material examined.” Curiously, mixed in with these specimens are nine specimens of T. mesopleuralis , labeled as “ paratypes.” See note under T. mesopleuralis .
FIGS: Zuska & Berg 1974 (habitus, wing, ♂ terminalia, ♂ genitalia, color variation; ♀ anal plate)
BIOL: Abercrombie 1970. BG: 11; PG: 1 and 3
HOSTS/PREY OF LARVAE: Biomphalaria glabrata , Galba humilis , Gyraulus parvus , Helisoma trivolvis , Stagnicola elodes , Physella gyrina , Planorbella duryi , and Planorbula armigera
IMMATS: Abercrombie 1970 (L3, P)
