Our two Gyroporus species belong to the Gyroporus castaneus (Bull.) Que´l., 1886 clade, which is highly diverse in North America although G. castaneus sensu stricto is likely a European species ( Davoodian et al. 2018). In BC, we have documented the presence of G. castaneus sensu lato (in this study SH1573440.08FU) with sequenced voucher collections, but not of SH1573441.08FU; these may both be undescribed species.
