Cortinariaceae View in CoL View at ENA
The only Cortinarius species we detected in this study, Cortinarius vinaceobrunneus Ammirati, Beug, Liimat., Niskanen & O. Ceska, 2016 , was originally described based on two collections under Garry oak, one from BC and the other from Washington State, USA ( Li et al. 2016). A search of the Beaty Museum’s Fungal Collections online indicates that 40–50 species of Cortinarius have been collected under Garry oak; clearly, much more assessment of the ECM fungi of Garry oak roots is needed.
