Sebacinaceae View in CoL View at ENA
Diverse mycorrhizal capacity exists within the Sebacinaceae , including ECMS, orchid mycorrhizas, and ericoid mycorrhizas ( Weiss et al. 2004). Five species of Sebacina have been reported from BC ( Kroeger and Berch 2017) based on vouchered collections, and 13 sequences from ECMs and ericoid mycorrhizal roots of salal ( Gaultheria shallon Pursh ) are found in GenBank. In this study, we detected four species of Sebacina , two of which closely match sequences from conifer ECMs in BC. The other two are related to Sebacina species sequenced from oaks or Fagaceae ( Table 2); SH1513266.08FU is reported from California and Mexico, while SH1615390.08FU is reported from Mexico and from a soil sample from Banks Island in the Canadian arctic.
