Carex × alluvialis Figert, Allg. Bot. Z. Syst. View in CoL 13: 4 (1907)
This hybrid is described from Poland ( Figert 1907) and recorded in Austria and Italy ( Koopman 2011). It needs to be searched for where both species grow together. The hybrid is smaller than C. buekii and grows, like C. elata , in clumps. It takes the stiff appearance from the latter, but the fibrous dark reddish lower leaf sheaths from C. buekii .
