Le genre comprend une quarantaine d’espèces (Baraud, 1985, 1992; Coca Abia & Martín Piera, 1998; Bezděk, 2016d) occupant essentiellement le Bassin méditerranéen occidental mais atteignant l’Iran vers l’Est, d’où une seule espèce a été signalée.
