Current name: Malvastrum coromandelianum (L.) Garcke ( Malvaceae ).

Note: See discussion by Merrill (in Philipp. J. Sci., C, 7: 240. 1912) of the Clifford and Plukenet entries, who concluded that the name should stay with Malvastrum , though he did not make an explicit typification. The type designated by Borssum Waalkes is illustrated (though the image has been reversed) by Hill (in Rhodora 84: 326, f. 64. 1982).
