Cyperus cinnamomeus Retzius (1786:10) View in CoL
= Cyperus glomeratus Linnaeus (1756:5) View in CoL
Lectotype (designated here):—Hortus Lundensis, s.d., Retzius, A. J., s.n., ( LD, LD1291367 , digital image!) ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ); isolectotype: [ LD1291307 , digital image!].
C. cinnamomeus was proposed by Retzius, and in the protologue it is written that ‘In Caldario Horti suit, sub nomine Cyperi ligularis ’ means the specimen might have been grown in Hortus Lundensis under the name C. ligularis . There are two sheets of C. cinnamomeus Retz. housed at Lund Herbarium. The lower margin of the sheet with Retzius’ annotations in LD1291307 was cut off. Hence, the better preserved one with annotation LD1291367 is designated here as lectotype and LD1291307 as isolectotype. The reverse side of LD1291367 has the annotation “H. L. = Hortus Lundensis”, confirming that this specimen is linked to the Hortus Lundensis, further supporting its provenance and its designation as the lectotype.
