Lectotype (designated by Fischer 1932):— INDIA.: Tranquebar [currently Tharangambadi, Tamil Nadu], s.d., Koenig , s.n., ( LD, LD1292087 , digital image!); isolectotypes: [ C, C10010185 , C10010186 and C10010187 , digital images!].
Cyperus flavidus was also proposed by Retzius based on Koenig’s collections from Tranquebar. We were able to locate a possible specimen (LD1292087) collected by Koenig from Tranquebar at the Lund Herbarium. There are two specimens mounted on the same sheet, and the better-preserved one is on the right-hand side. Further original materials are located in C, C10010185, C10010186 and C10010187, which serve as isolectotypes.
