Replaced synonym of: Anthyllis aspalathoides L. (1759) ; Aspalathus anthylloides L. (1763) , nom. illeg.

Lectotype (Dahlgren in Opera Bot. 4: 114. 1960): Herb. Linn. No. 893.56 ( LINN) .

Current name: Aspalathus aspalathoides (L.) Rothm. View in CoL View at ENA ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: As noted by Dahlgren (in Opera Bot. 4: 114. 1960) and Nordenstam (in Bot. Not. 114: 278. 1961), this is a later homonym of A. lotoides L. (1753) , and therefore illegitimate. In 1759, Linnaeus published A. aspalathoides as a nomen novum for A. lotoides L. (1756) .
