Exsecochrysis Linsenmaier, 1985: 462 as subgenus of Neochrysis Linsenmaier, 1959 . Type: Neochrysis (Exsecochrysis) gracilia Linsenmaier, 1985 by original designation. Synonym of Pleurochrysis Bohart, 1966 View in CoL according to Kimsey & Bohart (1991: 523).
Exsecochrysis : reinstated by Lucena et al. (2024: 29) to accommodate species previously included in Pleurochrysis Bohart, 1966 View in CoL by Kimsey & Bohart (1991).
The genus Exsecochrysis Linsenmaier includes four species, all of them found in Brazil: Exsecochrysis adnexa ( Linsenmaier, 1997) , Exsecochrysis alfkeni ( Ducke, 1902) , Exsecochrysis allotria ( Linsenmaier, 1985) , and Exsecochrysis gracilia ( Linsenmaier, 1985) .
