Alloperla banksi Frison, 1942

Notes

This species is commonly known as the Tufted Sallfly ( Stark et al. 2012). Alloperla banksi is known from Michigan, New York, and southeastern Canada, with a disjunct distribution in Virginia ( Surdick 2004, DeWalt et al. 2024). As in most other members of the genus, larvae of A. banksi are currently unknown and there is little published life history information beyond adult phenology ( Stewart and Stark 2002). In New York, this species was collected frequently from larger streams and rivers across much of the eastern portion of the state (Fig. 25 e ). Adults have been reported from mid-May through early August (Fig. 26 ) from elevations ranging from 57-978 m asl (Fig. 27 ).
