Habitat. Sandy beach with seagrass bed and reef flat, intertidal to 3‒4 m.

Distribution. Wide distribution in the Indo-Pacific.

Indonesia: Maluku and Lombok.

Remarks. The blue round patch on the merus of the chelipeds and ambulatory legs easily separates D. guttatus from congeners. Gastropods with narrow aperture are very often the preferred shelter of this species.
