Habitat. Sandy shore with gravels and boulders, in upper intertidal, very often found in large numbers under boulders.

Distribution. Mayotte Island, the Indian Ocean, the Philippines, and New Guinea. Indonesia: Lombok and Maluku.

Remarks. Described from New Guinea by Ball and Haig (1972) this species is recognizable by the blue and orange color on the dactylus and distal area of the propodus of the second and third pereopods.
