oniscioides Blainville, 1816: 97 View in CoL [ Onchidium , as “genre Onchidie”],
type locality unknown (Blainville’s expression “On ignore sa patrie” means that we ignore where it was collected), “plusieurs individus” [several spms].
— Type material: 2 syntypes (NHM).
― Transferred to Peronia by Blainville (1825a: 523), overlooked by Hoffmann (1928) and Labbé (1934a). Blainville wrote that he observed several specimens of that new species “en Angleterre ”, i.e., in the collections that are now part of the Natural History Museum. In fact, the author found two specimens labeled “ Onchidium oniscioides, Mus. Sloane ” at the NHM. Although those two specimens were not labeled as types, they likely are two syntypes of Onchidium oniscioides Blainville, 1816 . Labbé (1934a: 243) mentions the name “ Oncidiella onisciforme de Blainville, 1825 ” with Peronia oniscoides de Blainville as synonym. Labbé’s Oncidiella onisciforme is likely a spelling mistake of oniscioides .
