— Type material: lectotype and many paralectotypes designated by Thomé on 31 August 1982 (NHM 197828 W).

― Regarded as a veronicellid by Semper (1885: 313, as Vaginula occidentalis ), and then not mentioned by Hoffmann (1928) and Labbé (1934a). Based on the original illustrations and the fact that those animals live “in locis humidioribus elevatis Insulae S ti Vincentii,” this specific name clearly refers to a veronicellid.
