— Type material: 2 possible syntypes (MNHN); specimens labeled as atra , but atra Q & G is a nomen nudum, and the label links those specimens to Quoy & Gaimard’s pl. 15 [instead of 16], figs 24—26, suggesting that Quoy and Gaimard originally thought of naming that species atra , and then named it nigricans , which means the same thing.

― Valid as Onchidella nigricans ( Hoffmann 1928; Labbé 1934a; Stringer 1969).
