(gram d’olor). Àmpliament estès per Euràsia i algunes muntanyes nordafricanes, i introduït a Amèrica. Creix en prats, boscos clars, talussos, vores de camins, preferentment sobre sòls silícics o descarbonatats i en ambients una mica humits. És bastant freqüent en canals, sots, raconades ombrívoles i al voltant de fonts. El nom popular li ve de la forta olor a cumarina que presenta.
