Discussion. There are no distinct differences between V. modestus var. martini and other specimens of this species in the external structures and genitalia of males and females, with the exception of the slightly longer humeri and anteocular part of head. In all specimens of V. modestus , the ventro-apical margin of pygophore is sinuate. Some specimens from Iran (type locality of V. modestus ) have coloration indicated for V. modestus var. martini . The sizes of the body and its parts in V. modestus var. martini and in other specimens of this species are overlapping. The published data on the distribution of both forms are largely coincident.
