Distribution. Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Kirgizia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, NW China, Iran, Afghanistan, Israel, Jordan, UAE, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Marocco ( Christoph 1887a, 1888b, 1893; Staudinger & Rebel 1901; Daniel 1965b, 1969b; Falkovich 1986; Yakovlev 2006a , 2010).
Remarks. Two subspecies of this species viz., H. holosericeus holosericeus Staudinger, 1884 and H. holosericeus darwesthana Daniel, 1959 , are currently known from Iran ( Yakovlev 2011a ).
