Diagnostic features. Tail long, anus well anterior to half of TL; anterior nostril tubular; posterior nostril opening inner mouth; upper lip with numerous cirri completely but lower lip smooth, without cirri; teeth small and slender; dorsal-fin origin on head or slightly behind gill opening; pectoral fin small or well-developed ( Mohapatra et al. 2021; McCosker 2022; this study).
