Material examined. Crimea: Sevastopol, Kozacha Bay , 44.583501°N 33.415021°E, 06– 19.07.2006, 12 ♀ (Kizub) GoogleMaps .
Distribution. Ukraine: the Crimea, Kherson, and Zaporizhia Regions, introduced in Kyiv Region ( Yunakov, 2003 b; Yunakov et al., 2018 a, b). Central, Southern,
and Eastern Europe, Southwestern Asia, Syria, and Iran ( Alonso-Zarazaga et al., 2017).
Biology. Otiorhynchus balcanicus is a nocturnal, parthenogenetic species inhabiting xerothermic and mixed nemoral forests on the plain and in the mountains ( Yunakov, 2003 b; Yunakov et al., 2018 a). Dendrobiotic and polyphagous species feeding on Quercus pubescens , Q. robur , Betula borysthenica , and Juniperus excelsa ( Yunakov et al., 2018 a) . The species could damage fruit trees in the south of Ukraine ( Yunakov, 2003 b).
