Material examined. Crimea: Kerch, Mitridat Mt. , 45.35053°N
36.46958°E, 12– 20.04.1999, 1 ♀ (collector unknown).
Distribution. Ukraine: Crimea, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Luhansk, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Ternopil, Volyn, and Zakarapatska Regions ( Mazur, 2002; Yunakov et al., 2018 a). Almost whole Europe, Southwestern and Central Asia, and West Siberia ( Alonso-Zarazaga et al., 2017).
Biology. Parthenogenetic, nocturnal, meso-xerothermic species inhabiting steppes and xerothermic grasslands ( Mazur, 2002; Yunakov et al., 2018). Otiorhynchus velutinus is a polyphagous and chortobiotic species feeding mainly on plants of the order Rosales , families Asteraceae and Poaceae including Salvia sp. , Fragaria sp. , and Elymus repens ( Yunakov, 2003 b) .
