Like subsp. (a) but usually glabrous or sparsely hairy even when young, or sometimes fioccose; capitula 2—6(—10); involucral bracts purplish usually throughout; ligules orange or brownish-red, sometimes absent. Grassy places and open woods. • Mountains of E.C. Europe.
