Perennials. Leaves alternate. Capitula small, solitary at the ends of branches. Involucral bracts in 2-3 rows. Receptacle flat or slightly convex, without scales, alveolate; alveoles surrounded by a membranous rim. Outer florets filiform, female, the inner tubular, hermaphrodite. Achenes compressed; pappus-hairs in 1 row, denticulate, caducous.
