Stem 3O-8O(-1OO) cm, erect, glabrous. Basal and lower cauline leaves usually ovate, deeply cordate, obtuse, 1 - to 2-crenate to serrate, long-petiolate; basal leaves present at anthesis. Inflorescence dense, at first ovoid to more or less globose, later up to 6(-20) cm, cylindrical. Bracts linear, usually not longer than the width of the inflorescence, more or less conspicuous.
