Perennial. Stems 10-30 cm, sparingly branched. Leaves white-tomentose; lower 1 -pinnatisect. Capitula solitary. Involucre 7-11 mm in diameter; appendages with an appressed apical spine 0-5-1 mm, the fimbriae 0-5 mm. Florets purple. Pappus 1-2 mm, as long as achene. Calcareous rocks. • S.E. Italy (Mte.
