Type:— MADAGASCAR. Chiefly in Betsileo-land, on stony ground and about woods, 6–7 feet [~ 1.8–2.1 m] high, leaves opposite, spoonshaped, 3–5 in. [~ 76–127 mm] long, corolla yellow, 8 biseriate stamens, very short filaments, received [presumably at Herb. K] July 1880, [Reverend R.] Baron 105 [lectotype Herb. K barcode K000232872! Nomenclatural notes:— Smith & Figueiredo (2022: 100) clarified the typification of the name K. orgyalis .
Taxonomic notes:—The name K. orgyalis is in use for an accepted species. Smith & Figueiredo (2023a: 100–102) treated K. orgyalis taxonomically. It is a horticulturally popular species of which material is grown widely, especially in mild-climate parts of the world. It is included in K. [subg. Calophygia] sect. Stellatopilosae ( Berger 1930: 404, as “§ 1”) Smith (2020: 234).
