13. Kalanchoe streptantha Baker (1887: 472) ( Fig. 6 ).

Type:— MADAGASCAR. Central Madagascar , without precise locality, received [presumably at Herb. K] in December 1885, [Reverend R.] Baron 4874 [holotype Herb. K barcode K000232797 ! (image of the specimen available for examination online at http://specimens. kew.org/herbarium/ K000232797 ); isotype Herb. P barcode P00374209 ! (image of the specimen available for examination online at http://coldb.mnhn.fr/catalognumber/mnhn/p/p00374209)] .

Nomenclatural notes:—The nomenclature of K. streptantha was dealt with by Smith & Figueiredo (2021: 198–199).

Taxonomic notes:—The name K. streptantha is in use for an accepted species. The type of the name K. streptantha is the type of K. [subg. Bryophyllum ] sect. Streptanthae Smith (2023e: 278). Smith & Figueiredo (2021: 199) and Smith (2023e: 278–279) dealt with the taxonomy of K. streptantha .

14. Kalanchoe subpeltata Baker (1887: 472) .

Type:— MADAGASCAR. [Reverend R.] Baron 3429 [holotype Herb. K (image of the specimen not available for examination online, not seen); isotype Herb. P barcode P00374218 ! (image of the specimen available for examination online at http://coldb.mnhn.fr/ catalognumber/mnhn/p/p00374218)] .

Nomenclatural notes:— Boiteau & Allorge-Boiteau (1995: 69), who regarded the [Reverend R.] Baron 3429 specimen held at Herb. K as the holotype, are followed here. Unfortunately an image of the Herb. K specimen is not accessible online. An isotype of the name K. subpeltata is held at Herb. P. Descoings (2003: 166) did not provide the types of synonyms.

The nomenclature of K. miniata Hils. & Bojer ex Tulasne (1857: 149) var. miniata , in the synonymy of which the name K. subpeltata is included, was treated in Smith & Shtein (2021b: 123–124).

Taxonomic notes:—The name K. subpeltata is at present treated as a synonym of K. miniata var. miniata . Kalanchoe miniata is at present included in K. sect. Pubescentes Smith (2024c: 212).

15. “ K. macrantha ” Baker (1892: 300) , nom. inval.

Type:—Not applicable because types are for names, not for designations ( Turland et al. 2018: Art. 7.1).

Nomenclatural notes:—The designation ‘ K. macrantha ’ Baker (1892: 300) was not validly published because Baker himself did not accept the name (Smith 2021b: 94) (see Turland et al. 2018: Art. 33.1).

However, the name K. macrantha Baker ex Maire (1977: 254) , nom. illeg., was validly published more than 80 years after the designation “ K. macrantha ” Baker (1892: 300) was proposed (see Smith 2022: 101, 104). The name K. macrantha Baker ex Maire (1977: 254) was illegitimate because K. marmorata was included as a synonym of one of the varieties recognised by Maire (1977: 255).

Taxonomic notes:—The designation “ K. macrantha ” is associated with the validly published and accepted K. marmorata Baker (1892: 300) (see Smith 2021b: 97–98), which is included in K. subg. Kalanchoe .
