Type locality: Peter the First Mountain Range, Tajikistan

Type host: Mustela erminea

Comments: Hornok et al. (2017) and others treated Ixodes cornutus as a synonym of Ixodes rugicollis , but this name is accepted as provisionally valid in Filippova (1997, 2008), Guglielmone et al. (2014, 2020, 2023) and here.
