Type depositories: ENV: a lectotype (male) and a paralectotype (male) ( Trapido 1965, who designated only the lectotype); BMNH: a paralectotype (male) ( Keirans & Hillyard 2001).

Type locality: Borneo

Type host: deer

Comments: Guglielmone et al. (2014) stated that the lectotype of Haemaphysalis cornigera is deposited in the MNHN but it is not. The alleged specimens of Haemaphysalis cornigera in the MNHN belong to another species, as explained in Trapido (1965).
