Type locality: Nicaragua and USA

Type hosts: cattle and Dasyprocta

Current status: a nomen dubium

Comments: Ixodes bovis was treated as a synonym of Rhipicephalus annulatus in Guglielmone & Nava (2014). However, the specimens were collected not just in the USA, but also in Nicaragua where Rhipicephalus annulatus is not present. Ixodes bovis is considered to be a nomen dubium here.
