Type locality: Retalhuleu, Guatemala
Type host: Boa imperator
Current status: a synonym of: Amblyomma dissimile , as discussed in Guglielmone et al. (2021).
Comments: Stoll (1894) described the female of Ixodes boarum , but left open the possibility that the specimens were nymphs because their genital apertures were rudimentary. Neumann (1899) confirmed that the ticks were indeed nymphs.
