Type depository: unknown: holotype (male?), but lost according to Hooker (1909)
Type locality: eastern Florida , USA
Type host: Cervus virginianus
Current status: a synonym of Rhipicephalus annulatus and its original name ( Guglielmone & Nava 2014). The current status of Ixodes annulatus , as Rhipicephalus annulatus , was first established by Neumann (1897) and definitively by Murrell & Barker (2003).
