Type depository: SMNH: syntypes (females) but lost (Hoogstraal 1959)

Type locality: Ankara, Turkey

Type host: donkey

Current status: a synonym of Haemaphysalis sulcata , as listed in Camicas et al. (1998).

Comments: Guglielmone et al. (2017) stated that there is little justification for the synonymy of Haemaphysalis angorense with Haemaphysalis sulcata .
