Type locality: Kyasanur Forest , near Barage , Stattion 3, Shimoga District, State of Karnataka, India
Type host: the holotype specimen was collected from vegetation
Comments: Keirans & Hillyard (2001) and Filippova (2008) did not recognize type specimens of Haemaphysalis kyasanurensis as having been deposited in the BMNH and ZIAC, respectively.
