Current status: a synonym of Rhipicephalus annulatus ( Keirans & Clifford 1984, under the name Boophilus annulatus ).
Comments: Keirans & Clifford (1984) did not specify the developmental stage of the specimen held in the USNTC, but it is a female because Boophilus intraoculatus was described from two female ticks .
