Current status: Haemaphysalis intermedia is a new name for Haemaphysalis parva (preoccupied) described in Neumann (1908). Haemaphysalis intermedia was originally named Haemaphysalis bispinosa intermedia but the lectotype in Hoogstraal & Trapido (1963) was designated as Haemaphysalis intermedia .
