Type depository: USNTC?: syntypes? (males, females and a nymph) (Apanaskevich et al. 2008b)

Type locality: Varamin and Tehran, Iran

Type host: cattle, camel, sheep

Current status: a synonym of Hyalomma dromedarii , as discussed in Apanaskevich et al. (2008b).

Comments: Apanaskevich et al. (2008b) found specimens of Hyalomma delpyi in the USNTC whose information is mostly consistent with data from the original description and are probably part of the syntype series.
