Type locality: Cochin China, now “Tam Ky Province,” Vietnam ( Hoogstraal et al. 1966)

Type host: deer

Comments: no specimens of Haemaphysalis roubaudi were included in the list of USNTC types by Keirans & Clifford (1984). “Tam Ky Province” in Hoogstraal et al. (1966) is probably a lapsus for “Quảng Tín Province,” currently included in the Province of Qu ảng Nam .
