Type locality: Weyland Mountains , New Guinea, Indonesia

Type host: Phascogale sp.

Comments: Schulze (1932a) listed specimens that had been deposited in the ZMB, but Ixodes priscicollaris is not listed in the catalog of ZMB types by Moritz & Fischer (1981). According to Apanaskevich & Lemon (2018), one specimen of the probable syntype series is in the USNTC.
