Type locality: Esna City , Luxor Governorate, Egypt ( Šlapeta et al. 2022)

Type host: dog ( Šlapeta et al. 2022)

Comments: this species was originally named Ixodes linnaei , but a neotype was designated under the name Rhipicephalus linnaei by Šlapeta et al. (2022).
