Current status: a name incertae sedis ( Guglielmone & Nava 2014).

Comments: Schulze (1936a) stated that the holotype would be transferred to the ZMB, but no specimen of Rhipicephalus macropis is included in the ZMB type catalog by Moritz & Fischer (1981).
