Comments: the syntypes of Haemaphysalis verticalis were thought to have been deposited in the NSM by Emel’yanova & Hoogstraal (1973) but were not found there; this situation was clarified by Hoogstraal (1973), who stated that the syntypes are held in the VMDFA.
