Type locality: Lake Ura , Province of Sofala, Mozambique
Type host: Pterodromus tetradactylus
Current status: a synonym of Rhipicephalus decoloratus ( Keirans & Hillyard 2001, under the genus Boophilus ).
Comments: Keirans & Hillyard (2001) stated that paratypes of Rhipicephalus scheepersi apparently never arrived at the BMNH .
